Diet tips: How to eat less
- Eat less. More often. Rather than eating large meals, chop up your eating into smaller portions throughout the day. I found myself eating 3 meals most days and having a snack around 3pm as well as another in the evening. That was enough to keep me from feeling hungry while still eating less in total.
- Don't eat right before going to bed. I've read this numerous times and don't get why it works, but it does. I set a limit of 3 hours. So I planned to go to bed at midnight, I wouldn't eat past 9pm.
- Brush your teeth early. For whatever reason, I won't eat when my teeth still feel clean. By brushing them several hours before bed, it was easier to accomplish #2.
- Kick the sugar habit. If you drink sugared soft drinks (I used to be a Mt. Dew and Coke fan), replace them either with their diet counterparts or water. This can make a very, very big difference.
- Eat vegetables before the main course. Whenever possible, I'd make sure to have an ample serving of a vegetable (you get very few calories for the amount you eat) before eating the denser main course--often a meat or fish. You'll need less of the dense stuff to be happy.
- Update your spreadsheet daily. Keeping a running count will help you ration out the rest of your daily calorie allowance, which we'll talk about tomorrow.
- Get used to leftovers. When you eat out, expect to take some of your meal home. If you eat standard restaurant portions, you'll almost certainly overeat.
- Shop with calories in mind. When you're at the grocery store, spends some extra time reading the labels and nutritional information. You'll probably end up changing your shopping habits along the way. You'd be surprised by the how widely the calorie counts in various granola bars varies, for example.
- Slow down! When you eat fast, you end up ingesting more food before you body has a chance to figure out that it's satisfied (not full).
- Drink more water during the day. This is fairly generic advice, but definitely seems to help.
- Trick yourself with gum. Sometimes we eat out of habit or because it just feels good to get some flavor in your mouth and chew for a while. Find yourself some sugar-free chewing gum and use it when the urge strikes.
- Reduce the amount of breads, chips, crackers, and salty snacks you eat. A lot of starchy and/or salty food make you want to eat and drink even more. This comes straight out of Atkins diet culture.
- There are probably a few things I've forgotten that I'll remember after posting this. If so, I'll add 'em on later. Meanwhile, drop your suggestions below.....

Nigerian Activists Teach Sexual Rights, Awareness, Safety

YESTERDAY
ABUJA, NIGERIA — After attending the
international AIDS conference in Washington, D.C., Nigerian youth
leaders are trying hard to bring home and apply what they learned.
Many young men and women at a hotel in Abuja wear brightly colored badges made from condoms. Others wear strips of plastic condom packages safety-pinned to their shirts.
While a colleague carefully tapes blue and pink fabric to a condom to complete another badge, Charles Onwuka, the Abuja program coordinator for activist group “Our Right Our Life,” said condoms are the first line of defense against HIV/AIDS. He said Nigerians are squeamish, and often do not even like to talk about them.
“Most people are shy to even touch condoms. But you can see many people are wearing condoms. It does not hurt. It will not bite you. So you can carry condoms, use condoms when it is necessary to use them,” said Onwuka.
The national coordinator of the organization, Oyedeji Folayan, said he attended the international HIV/AIDS conference in Washington, D.C., this summer. His group is working to emulate awareness campaigns they saw in the United States, and to build their network of activists against HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
Folayan said the "Our Right Our Life" group seeks to educate young Nigerians about what he called “sexual rights.” For instance, he said, many young women do not believe they have the right to refuse sexual advances or demand the use of a condom.
“A lot of youth in Nigeria are not aware of their sexual rights due to poverty, lack of orientation about sexual reproductive health, due to no exposure," said Folayan.
On the other side of the conference room, women conduct HIV blood tests with hundreds of takers. Health officials say 80 percent of Nigerians do not know their HIV status, despite the fact about 3 million people in the country are known to be HIV-positive.

How to meet women
I am not good looking, so i will struggle to attract women?
This is what is known as a limiting belief – any belief that you have
which places limitations on your abilities on how to meet women, rather
than empowering you.Limiting beliefs are not true and some of the main limiting beliefs that I overcome with my clients are:
Fear of rejection.
I am not good enough.
I am not worthy enough to have a beautiful girlfriend.
I will not know what to say.
She looks like she has a boyfriend.
She won’t be interested in me.
There are so many better looking men here than me.
Creating pictures and feelings of failure within your body which limit you.
Now believing that you are not good looking, and that you will always struggle to attract women, is a limiting belief that I have dealt with on many occasions.
I know that you have all seen “ugly” men with very attractive women, and I’m sure that your standard response is that he must have money. Let me tell you that, yes, there are certain women that are attracted to money, but in reality, it is a very small percentage.
What a lot of men do not realise is that women are not attracted to the same things as men.
Men are generally attracted, at first, to youth and beauty whereas women, from the outset, are attracted to a wider variety of things including leadership, integrity, manners, social skills, laughter, being able to put them in a good mood, and ultimately your ability to understand their model of the world and explore it.
If you have all of these skills and more, then you will be able to attract women consistently regardless of your looks.
The problem with this is that you need to be confident with who you are and not get your confidence from lines which someone has given you the confidence to use.
One of the main skills that I teach clients is how to enter the world as a woman views it, which allows you to communicate on a deeper level. When you have mastered this skill it will not matter if a millionaire or a top Latin model enters the room, because you will be communicating in a way in which a woman has never encountered before, and it will seem as though no one else in the room exists.
Cheers.
